We spoke in favour of the new Toppings York bookshop tonight at 1 Museum St, and I'm delighted to say that the Planning Committee voted unanimously against the officer recommendation to refuse it. They have now referred it back for officer approval.

Thrilled to see the lost map of 1822 York discovered in the Borthwick vaults! This photo shows the wood and iron water pipes layout around St Sampsons Square in red alongside the new Gas pipes in black. Attracted a lot of attention then and now! Fights between rival gas companies ensued.
