The Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings movie is not good and is clearly very unfinished and rushed but has some really fucking awesome crazy stuff in it. A lot of the material from Fellowship of the Ring in the movie is kind of pretty sick honestly.

Conflicting info about whether Pretti was murdered by ICE or CBP makes it clear that ICE is not single "rogue agency" ICE, CBP and ALL policing & borders must be abolished. This isn't just one agency; its an entire infrastructure of carceral control, illegalization & criminalization, and fascism.

“don’t give them what they want” they are manufacturing their justifications post-hoc. they are already doing what they want. you are not responsible for the actions of your oppressor. you are only responsible for keeping your neighbors safe and that will always be seen as defiance

Assume all official statements are flattering lies, and that all media outlets will not vet them.

I don’t know how much longer we can be expected to live alongside the lie that this is not exactly what it looks like: a violent siege, meant to destroy people. The lie makes it even more destructive.

Last four Captain Blood is really good, unsurprisingly. Lots of buckles are swashed (or swashes buckled?) Sharpe’s Eagle is a marked improvement over Sharpe’s Rifles and I’m fully on board with this series now. After The Thin Man is really fun! And what can you even say about Future Cops?
