This week in Parliament, I planted a stake in the @commonsspeaker.parliament.uk Garden of Remembrance from the Llanelli constituency. The Garden honours the sacrifices made by so many in defending our freedoms, our values and our way of life.

I recently met with Melanie James, Heartbeat Trust UK, at Lewis Construction in Trostre as she launched the roll out of Critical Bleed Control bleed kits to Carmarthenshire. These kits save lives. I hope we can persuade others locally to provide them in workplaces and vehicles too.

Today, 59 years on from 21st October 1966, we remember the 116 children and 28 adults who tragically lost their lives in the devastating Aberfan disaster. We will never forget.

Interesting to visit Mind Llanelli on #WorldMentalHealthDay & hear about their work supporting local people. Great to see progress on the shop next door that they're turning into a young people’s café. A big thanks to everyone who works at, volunteers or fundraises for them.

When businesses are paid on time, money flows more quickly allowing businesses to invest rather than wasting time and money chasing unpaid invoices. I support tougher laws to ensure fast payment of invoices and penalties for persistent late payers.
