Yesterday MsE and I went to a cake decorating workshop. So, I have been feeling useless, first from surgery then from the post surgery impacts of this vein clot/nerve damage issues. 1/2

I had a friend say 'recovery is not linear' when she was struggling post surgery and it lit up something for me. We expect linear trajection, have been trained to. But humans are not.

Art is inefficient. Care is inefficient. Joy is inefficient. Humanity is inefficient. Don't let them take that away.

Our kids did bush kinder here. I have been to multiple conferences here. It is amazing, full of wildlife and connections to nature and country.

This week I have been at hospital 4/7 days. 2 planned days (hysterectomy) and two follow up ER trips (spotting - ok now, blocked catheter - now removed). Am home. Am recovering. Am exhausted. I will be hiding under a doona for the foreseeable future. Kthx.
