The assassin's primary target was James, but they had been cleared to take down other heroes and villains as collateral. So they would split off into two groups of two, one set slowly approaching Glimmer and drawing their blades. The other set moving to the hanging lights that hung from the Lair's~

"Yeah, well, that's going to be harder for me than you'd think. I don't have much /respect/ for the hero types." James slowed slightly as he noticed her squinting, as if trying to spot something off in the distance. It was a good thing she had a keen eye, as James hadn't noticed it yet. ~

James had just managed to use his powers to rip off the vault door that kept the main armory sealed, gently placing it against the hallway wall as the hybrid approached. James only took notice of the other when he finally spoke, causing James to turn around and scoff as his gaze met the heroes own.~

James let out a slight chuckle at the final statement, smiling beneath his mask as he gave a nonchalant shrug. "Never said I was gonna make it easy, did I?" With that said he would enter a boxing stance, throwing a few jabs at the air. Arrogant of him to shadow box like this in preparation, but~

James would let out an exhausted sigh. "Not much to tell on my part, got home to my apartment, nearly got turned into paste by thermite and live explosives torching my apartment, tried to contact Avid and... I really don't want to get into background details... what do you guy's have on Vapor?"

Luckily for her, he was being genuine. As when he reached into the inside lining of his suit jacket and produced his revolver. He held it by the barrel and handed it to her with the handle up, barrel down. "Don't make me regret this... I'm only doing this because of him..."

Every instinct was SCREAMING at James that this was a trap... But he would take a soft breath before sharply exhaling. "Hey, listen. I'm going to grab something now, okay? If you can suspend your disbelief that I won't shoot you, I want to give you my gun... a sign of compliance..." Was he~

[ Theoretically if they upgraded him, they'd technically have a field unit that could perform upgrades without needing to return captives if he kept his powers post "upgrade" But he wouldn't go down without a fight. So shoot to kill is advised]

James would watch her movements carefully, especially after her mentioning not being a hero. his fingers and wrist nearly twitched as she initially brought her hands up past her waist. Calming partly once it was obvious she wasn't attempting to draw a weapon. However what little calm he'd managed~
