Rhea is my IRL height: 4'11". She's mostly neutral about it, because she lives in a world where a significant portion of the population is shorter than her, so there's already plenty of accommodations for short people. (Ishgard was not exactly short friendly though.)

"Will FFXIV be saved" "FFXIV is saved!" It never needed saving. The increased player count shown for DT in the Keynote and the unending amount of newcomers in daily roulettes in Crystal Tower alone say otherwise. It's just people on social media/YouTube looking for drama to kick up.

This is going to be extremely obvious, but Selkie would be the best mermaid (I actually considered making her a mermaid at one point). Worst would be Kakaro. That lil tater is totally landlocked.

Selkie wasn't exactly scouted. She initially tried to keep a low profile in Eorzea. It was only when she ran into Urianger (ie, tackled him to the ground because he was standing too close to Ramuh) that they met her and recruited her after realizing she had the Echo.

I'm not sure if I have an absolute favorite, but knowing that @jynxtsi.bsky.social OC Arion got everyone in FFXIV with a Carbuncle to name them after cookie flavors delights me.

If it weren't for the fact that I do not have the time/finances to get sucked into another MMO, I would absolutely give FFXI a shot. The XIV alliance raid of it did an amazing job of making me want to play that game.

The impatient asshole who pulled the final boss of the new Alliance raid is the first and only time I've ever cursed someone out in public chat in FFXIV. It is week one, day *two* of the raid. I wish they'd lock people out of the boss until everyone's out of the cutscene to prevent this fuckery.

The fanfest keynote, and the reactions to the concept art, is such a loud reminder of the importance and significance of the artists who work and pour their passion into these pieces, and how they resonate with so many. Respect, pay, and give artists the time and space to create beautiful artwork!
