Due to working on certain projects and initiatives at work where the phrase "prepare for the worst and hope for the best" is used/said quite a bit, I now have a visceral reaction when I hear or see the phrase.

Ever since the iPhone X, I have been buying the fully unlocked version of the phone through Apple rather than through any carrier. It's easier now that most new iPhones support all of the required bands for their respective regions.
