Looks like Southeastern Metro will retain many service cuts again from May 2026. For all the noise from govt about Great British Railways, actions on SE Metro don't bode well Govt controlled SE Metro first to offer combined track and operations. Still, service cuts remain. Govt won't fund.

The reason we have the piss poor Thamesmead DLR plan is because *far* better transport projects are blocked by the Treasury. DLR to Dagenham Dock. Light rail system serving tens of thousands of planned homes across north Greenwich and Bexley boroughs ala GWT Bakerloo line extension

You will probably find that EVERY significant rail investment was opposed by the Treasury - HS1, Jubilee line extension, Crossrail, etc. Takes strong-willed ministers to push schemes through. Currently we don't have those ministers, hence Leeds Tram delay (will probably be cancelled).
