Been listening to the Carleton Hobbs/Norman Shelley Sherlock Holmes plays (BBC 1952-1969). Although these were for radio, these two really looked the part. These are cracking adaptations, I'm really enjoying them.

Best part of a Saturday morning. Post porridge, coffee made but still to be drunk, about 1/3 into a podcast.

Not clickbait, it's actual human brain cells being used to play doom. Steve Furber at the University of Manchester agrees that Doom is a big step up from Pong, but says much remains unclear like how the neurons know what's expected of them or how they "see" the screen without eyes.

Finally got around to getting a "new" record player (an old Rotel). Updated the cartridge (which cost more than the player) and am extremely pleased. Also means I can have a proper record player in the kitchen instead of the cheap usb one that was in there. Smell my cool.

Working in social care I've had multiple years with no rise in pay. If I do get one it's always under 2%. Because I'm employed for a charity there's always the element of it being vocational & not about pay. And we are told the injuries/danger element is just part of the role of supporting people.
