Was die AfD gestern veranstaltet hat, war absolut beschämend für den deutschen Bundestag und ich hoffe, dass es rechtliche Konsequenzen gibt. Denn, Leugnung und Relativierung des Genozids von Srebrenica ist strafbar.

Da saßen also zwei Genozidüberlebende im Saal und mussten sich hasserfüllte Botschaften einer Partei anhören, die bei KEINER Genozidgedenkveranstaltung dabei sein sollte. Weil, um zu Gedenken muss Empathie und Menschlichkeit da sein. Beides hat die AfD nicht.

Sie sah die Blume als "politisch" an, ohne eine Ahnung über dieses Symbol zu haben. Also saß ich wieder im Raum, sichtlich erschüttert, über das was passiert ist und hörte mir die weiteren Ansprachen an.

Das ganze war extrem demütigend und entwürdigend. Die Anweisungen die Blume abzunehmen kam von der deutschen Bundestagspräsidentin Julia Klöckner.

Das konnte man im Fernsehen beobachten. Ich war sichtlich geschockt und weigerte mich die Blume abzunehmen. Wir verließen die Tribüne nur um kurze Zeit später wieder reingelassen zu werden weil " jetzt darf man die Blume doch tragen."

Ich nahm sie trotzdem ab, mit der Absicht sie auf der Ehrentribüne wieder aufzusetzen. Meine Begleitung und ich setzen die Blume auf der Tribüne wieder auf. Wir wurden kurzer Zeit später aufgefordert sie abzunehmen oder den Saal zu verlassen.

Zuerst wurden wir aufgefordert unsere "Blume von Srebrenica", die Solidarität mit den Genozidopfern und -Überlebenden symbolisiert, abzunehmen. Ich habe mich geweigert und sah es als persönlichen Angriff auf unsere Gedenkkultur.

Gestern war der 30. Gedenktag an den Genozid an den Bosniak:innen & der erste internationale Gedenktag. Zu dem Anlass waren ich & ein weiterer Genozidüberlebender, sowie einige bosnische Diplomat:innen im deutschen Bundestag eingeladen. Was folgte war extrem traumatisierend.

The accession of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO would permanently curb Serbia and Russia’s influence in the Western Balkans, according to experts at a Harvard University panel in the region.

BiH must resolutely resist Milorad Dodik's putsch attempt against it. Solidarity to the Srebrenica Memorial Centre and all who are coming under assault. Yet defeating this putsch will be an empty victory if it only reinforces the Dayton system that produced the crisis in the first place.
