here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

I cannot imagine what would possess someone to go to court and put on the record that they got mad and tried to fire a reporter because the live shot - which itâs alleged the reporter staged- had a âfuck iceâ sign in the background.

I mean this with full sincerity: this is legitimately what activists should be calling for. Not "defund" or "abolish" or some grand demand that won't work. Specific, highly-supported incrementalism works. The right does it constantly. You can too. "Make cops shooting dogs illegal." Just say that.

This is the way - use the power you have. Rep. Levin threatens to take away the Supreme Court's budget if they don't adopt a binding code of conduct to stem corruption. Demand, and make them tell you no. Then make consequences happen. And the public will be on your side, if they have seen the rot.

Interesting to see the second home tax measure in San Diego doing so badly. At least in part this has to be down to the fact that nobody trusts our mayor and council with money. theyâve given people no reason to believe they wonât just give all the taxes raised right to the cops.
