Irene Rich winning the whole movie in Lubitsch's adaptation of LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN (1925). Lubitsch and Oscar Wilde were a match made in heaven. Too many directors take a WITTY NUDGE NUDGE YA GET IT??? approach to Wilde and overdirect their performers. Lubitsch keeps it perfectly light.
