Was dragged to an obligatory social thing this morning, energy's still dead-dead. Wanted to get back into ZA, but I'd either be extra punchy/spicy, or absolute zombie, no in-between. Probably go have a lie-down after dinner, keep having false starts just trying to do anything.

This released while I was indisposed, but here's the first of the new Legends Z-A let's play! The most absolute minor of spoilers here, since it's the start of the game.

Noticed a minor issue with the end screen transition on the first PLZA vid, but I have to get to bed and don't have time to reupload the whole thing for what amounts to a frame or two inaccuracy. Will get fixed for the next one, you bet!

Gotta be up at diurnal-people hours, and editing and other things took up my time today. So unfortunately I don't get to keep playing ZA and adding to my buffer right this second, but I'm rarin' to get back to it tomorrow afternoon/evening! (I also made myself a basic end screen template!)

The interesting thing about starting a new Let's Play is dialing in the audio balance between game and voice. Once I find a solid average I can usually just set the game level and use that consistently every vid thereafter, but I'm real dynamic sometimes, so I still occasionally have to adjust me.

Much as I'd love to keep going, 4+ hours of recording ZA is about all I can handle, and my body is making me very aware I'm overtaxed. So that's an early night (by my messed up standards), hope to have the first PLZA vid out Saturday (and then once or twice a week thereafter).

BY THE WAY If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2. There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security. Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation." TURN IT OFF.

I'm *really* liking a lot of the changes in ZA. Battle in general is a lot more fluid (to the point that using items in combat feels weird), they have a person return the PokeBalls you whiffed, you can catch *other Pokémon* while in combat, and you can use fire moves to burn bushes instead of Cut.

I immediately realized that I've bitten off WAY more than I can chew, and that's not enjoyable for the audience or myself. So I'm gonna relegate the French save to off-camera, and play ZA in English for YouTube.

The Golden Sun Finale for the JRPG and retro-gaming enjoyers! It's been a year and a half since the start, but I'm super grateful to anyone who's given it a watch. Will update my pinned post later to move the series to the "Complete" tree, but for now I've gotta get hydrated for some Pokémon ZA!

Ok so literally immediately after posting this thread the Internet came back, which is somewhat uncharacteristic, but I'm not complaining. I still stand by "second, secret Internet for night owls" though. (I swear I'm usually more patient, I'm just real cranky about *gestures*)

Got to the end of editing the Golden Sun Finale* and suddenly discord cuts out on PC. "Oh that's... odd?" Look at phone, wifi signal error indicator. "Oh no." Switch to 5G, check for ISP outages. "We're performing service in your area and should be restored at 6AM." *roy_kent_fuuuuuck.gif*

Although it is indeed well past midnight here (and therefore I can play PLZA), I'm sticking to my schedule and putting together the last Golden Sun vid, then sleep, and get into my «Légendes Pokémon» adventure relatively fresh/more likely to be able to translate at least half-decently.

It is less than 24 hours until the official release of Pokémon Legends Z-A, and I've *finally* completed my theory vid. (Last minute crunch is always gross but seems to be where I'm most effective, yay executive dysfunction. On the plus side, the thumbnail my sister drew in that time is phenomenal.)

Had a dream where I was back on "my" college campus (that thing where you know it's a dreamscape and doesn't have the same layout IRL, but it's still "your" campus), explaining burnout to someone else on the way to a class that wasn't mine.

I've also found out that the Phoenixes in Islet Cave are worth more XP. So I've headed over there to get levels first, then I'm gonna try for more Orihalcon. I didn't notice where I got it, but somewhere in this farm I received a "Berserker Band" (circlet that boosts attack quite a bit)

So I discovered that I wasn't misremembering, Excalibur is forged from Orihalcon (in Lost Age), and I've gotten tremendously unlucky with the ones you get from chests and events in game. On the plus side, it (Orihalcon) sometimes drops from enemies in the Anemos Inner Sanctum.

Saw y'all (you and @nesstalgic.posts.games) getting into this, figured I'd jump on as well. Was pretty jazzed that @bskyttrpg.bsky.social uses Pathfinder classes. I'm a Summoner of eidolons, an anchor for beings from other planes of existence, or even concept made form!

Mysteriously, Umamusume has started working on Mint again. Notably, there haven't been any package updates that I think would impact it. I think I've cleared out some unused Nvidia OpenGL flatpaks for an older driver version... and that's it.

It's a right pity that my instinct upon hearing the first few notes of "Mori no Chiisana Restaurant" is to immediately check if that channel has Auto dubbing enabled, but it's necessary to avoid robot voice jumpscare.

Started playing Inscryption (yes I know, I'm quite literally late to the game), and starting to get a hang of it. Just got to the cabin for the first time, didn't draw the card I needed, got wrecked. Alas.
