Kickstarter has reverted their policy changes on Adult Content! They issued an apology, siting Stripe as the reason. The pressure we put on them worked. This is a step in the right direction. But the threat of Stripe remains. It’d be great to see KS end ties with them & process payments elsewhere.

My first fandom actually had notoriously (at the time at least) bad art, so I actually think my art is heavily influenced by my second and third fandom I’m probably predictable based on how much I yap, but guesses are still welcomed if anyone is compelled to try lol

I think this is probably true for me as well lol. but boy is it is a great time saver/jumping off point. You gotta be able to fill the gap with the fundamentals of form though, because sometimes what is technically three dimensionsally correct is not what looks correct in a drawn image.☝️watch out!

This right here. I know art is a “luxury” and when people can’t afford even the basics, it’s understandable that they aren’t spending money on art stuff. So if you still support artists in these though times, know how much we all appreciate it. (And don’t feel bad if you can’t.)

Was talking about this with @plumy.bsky.social this morning, and I don’t get why so many artists are so selfish. Refusing to share merch manufacturers, tools, or resources. The world and capitalism push us to compete with each other. Artists should be the first to push back and support one another.

I fully understand if “friend” is a high pressure word for some people, but my mutuals—the ones who I follow and/or comment to and chat with—are my friends, even if it’s one way. I won’t be uncomfy with anyone, but if you want to chat, ask questions or comment: it’s all chill. We’re friends.

I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.

An update: they’re literally ignoring all the emails we sent them. I understand that cons have the right to set rules, but I’ve been doing cons for 5 years now and I’ve never felt so humiliated by an artist alley director or an event in my life. It really makes me wanna cry
