We received a special delivery from Mrs. Glass yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately we have no idea what it says or who it’s from. 🤔🤔 This afternoon we shall decipher the code to find out what it says.

🎄Christmas Challenges Day 2 🎄

Great concentration completing the snowflake and cocktail stick challenge.

Mixing our maths topic of time with Christmas. Having fun carrying out these set tasks. The biggest challenge was the cellotape! PS We did a fabulous job of wrapping the presents, if the adults are needing any help. 😊😊

Thank you to the P7 House Captains for listening to our presentations today. “We Want Seats At Assembly” was the focus for our persuasive writing. Week 1 - planning. Week 2 - draft copy. Week 3 - final copy and poster. Week 4 - presentations. We have our fingers crossed!

Great news! Mrs Hughes has arranged an amazing Christmas raffle. ⭐️🎄 Prizes include a “Christmas Drinks Bundle”, “Giant Cupcake”, “Guess the Birthday” and a Christmas hamper with drinks and so much more. Tickets on sale from 24th Nov - draw on Friday 5th Dec. Tickets are 50p or 3 for £1.

In science this week, we made rain gauges. We worked with our partner to measure cm intervals on our bottles, cut the top off and inserted it into the body like a funnel. Next we used cellotape to secure the top to the rest of the bottle and secured them to the fence. Now we wait for some rain!

Two teams from Hallglen FC took part in their first football festival ⚽️❤️ The boys showed brilliant teamwork, attitude and were an excellent representation of the school and our values ⚽❤️

Today singers were introduced in our YMI lesson. Thank you for volunteering, you were all amazing. The glockenspiels, sleigh bells and singers = fabulous performance = very proud teacher🥰

Due to parents evening next week and winter events running throughout December, this Wednesday (19th November), will be our final training session until after the Christmas holiday. Hawks should come to training as normal this week, from 3pm-4pm. 🏀 ⭐️

On Wednesday, Cameron from YMI taught us how to play the glockenspiel. We will be practising a very well known Christmas song with him for another two weeks. We are already sounding amazing.🎼

This week in P.E., we started new blocks in tennis and badminton 🎾🏸

Odd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day 2025 is taking place on Monday 10th November. Children can wear odd socks to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! There is no cost to take part in this.

We were set a challenge! To design and create a boat using specific materials which would float and carry a cargo of 100g. Today we started the design process with our shoulder partners and can’t wait to create and test them.

This week we have been learning about “Buoyancy” in our “Water” topic. We learned why some objects float or sink and about “The Archimedes Principle”. We chose some classroom objects, predicted what they would do and recorded our outcomes.

Today we were scientists again. Don’t we look amazing! We tried to replicate The Water Cycle and what happens to clouds when they get too heavy. Please ask us about this experiment. We really enjoyed finding out what happened. 💗

Continuing with 2D and 3D shape this week saw us learning to use a pair of compasses to draw circles and investigating nets by building skeletal structures.
