In P6C we’ve started ‘Quick Write’ ✏️ Each day, pupils write for a short burst, then have focused time to edit. They use “circle it out” to keep their writing flow, circling tricky words or parts they want to improve and returning to them during editing time to fix and up-level work.

The children created earthquake infographics to link writing to our natural disaster topic. 🌍

In writing, we have started our focus of non-fiction. During our poetry unit, the children wanted to learn more about a famous poet. To bridge this interest into non-fiction writing, we created infographics about Robert Burns. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Last week we explored earthquakes and their impact on communities and infrastructure. The children worked in groups to design and build structures to withstand an “earthquake.” 🌍

The children are enjoying our new class novel Running Wild, which links to our topic Natural Disasters. 🌊
