This week we continued our Water topic. In this experiment, we were demonstrating how clouds become saturated with water, causing precipitation.

Our Climate Action Week grass heads are needing a hair cut!

For the final day of Climate Action Week, we planted these fun grass heads.we can’t wait to give them their first hair cut!

As part of Climate Action Week we have been learning about Sustainable Development Goal: Climate Action. We watched a video about how we could make a difference and then made our own pledges.

This week in Maths we have been learning about 3D shapes.

Today we have been researching the job of an archaeologist and then we drew the list city from our class novel.

This week, we met with P5R to gather all of our ideas for our Water topic. We looked at the learning we had to achieve and the children had some great ideas for experiments and STEM activities. Mrs Rae and I are excited to plan these lessons!

In P.E., P5C have been measuring their progress in fitness. We learned how to measure our heart rate and set personal targets 🫀💪 @mrsclarkhps.bsky.social

Just a reminder that children who wish to take part in Basketball trials after school tomorrow must have their online form completed. Children who are not registered will be sent home as normal at 3pm.

This week we continued to read our class novel and we have been researching the animals of the rainforest. Today we created a factfile about the red eyes tree frog.

We continued our mini rainforest topic this week. We have learned about the water cycle, where rainforests are located and about the different layers of the rainforest. We then created these wonderful oil pastel rainforest snakes.

Our PE days for P5C are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure that children come to school with suitable clothing and shoes on these days. Many thanks for your continued support.

Captain Sean visited us today for a full day of everything Titanic. It was such a fun filled day with too many photos to share. They will be on display at the P5/4 and P5R parent event on Monday, 16.06.25 from 1.30pm. We look forward to telling you all about it then. @mrsclarkhps.bsky.social

We had a lovely time today with S3 GHS STEM. We learned about animal adaptations, looked at the skulls of herbivores, carnivores and omnivores and then tried different types of pincer grip tools to see how different beak shapes are useful for different diets.

More Light Lab fun

We had fantastic fun today with the Light Lab.

P7 parents this letter went out yesterday, please help us make our raffle as successful as possible⭐️!

In reading and writing, we have been studying play scripts. Today we followed stage directions, used props and acted out the characters in our bug club plays. On Tuesday, we wrote scene 1 of our own plays, based on an expedition to the South Pole.

Due to a P7 Transition event on Thursday 8th May, the usual P5/4 PE slot on Tuesday will be moved to Thursday for one week only. Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather because PE may take place outdoors as children are training for sports day events.

Welcome to P5/4’s blue sky. On Friday, we learned about Scottish designer Gillian Kyle, whose design use iconic Scottish brands. We used the tunnock’s tea cake wrapper for these fab art pieces.
