Today I made reeds in #blender #greasepencil, again. This time, I like them more, and there is better control over z-ordering. My hope is to be able to make many variants for my #indiegame with less redrawing.

This week in #godot I made eyes for my spider. The eyes track the mouse position, and randomly blink. I used an #animated sprite for the white of the eye, and another #sprite set to clip to the parent node for the pupil. #godotengine #gamedev #indiedev #2dgame #platformer

This week I somewhat-successfully used a #Subviewport and a #Meshinstance2D to render my 2D game into a 3D environment. I need to fix all positions that are retrieved from the mouse because switching to a 3D scene broke them. I'll deal with that next week, I'll take this win. #gamedev #indiedev

Here are the latest improvements to my spider climber for my #godot #indiegame. This week, I added visual feedback for the feet using a #gdscript function called _draw(). I added control over the foot queue to the player, and I added #StaticBody2D walls that repel feet from sticking to them.

Today I put together the first part of my first Skeleton2D in Godot. Shoutout to ShatteredReality's tutorial on YouTube, it was really good for simple rigging. I am excited to add the rest of the legs and then apply the calculated positions of the head, knees, and feet. This spider is going to live!
