BOTW has the "big but diluted" game scope thing that I tend to bounce off of. The older games tended to feature a handful of really well designed and engaging dungeons that riff on interesting visual & mechanical themes. BOTW tossed out dungeons in favor of having 100+ "shrines" that are... okay.
