Constantly get cars cutting onto the wrong side of the road divider to get to the rat run quicker from Ashley Terrace also, which has made for some 'fun' near-misses.

If only there was an organisation in Edinburgh that could do something about pavement parking. This pavement in bruntsfield has recently been repaired - due to damage caused by vehicles parking in it. Road is 4 lanes if tarmac wide here

I see a steel frame with concrete slab floors and staircases, poured concrete foundations and stacks of hydrocarbon foam insulation panels and can't help but wonder by what mechanism this becomes "net zero" (beyond the noted rain garden and bicycle parking).

You can report overgrown hedges and trees via the Edinburgh council website. It is homeowners responsibility to ensure hedges are trimmed back to the property boundary. If no action from owners, council can arrange contractors at homeowners expense. webforms.edinburgh.gov.uk/site/portal/...

The paperwork shows the building currently owned by a student letting company. Assuming Council don't intend to buy the building, is plan to change use and then pay owner to make use of the accommodation. I have a sneaky theory that this pivot is part of the industry masterplan for the PBSA racket

There are lots of modal filters in Edinburgh. Why is the council so determined to remove the 3 in the Braid Estate (highlighted yellow) at a cost of c£400k so that around 4,000 more drivers can speed through our residential streets?

Great to see the whole site being watered this morning. I was reassured in conversation with the contractor that the vast majority of the trees are doing well.

I have been advised that the whole site will be watered tomorrow. Thanks to Gorgie Collective for raising this and to Friends of Dalry Cemetery moving so swiftly to water the trees. We are so lucky to have these groups in Gorgie-Dalry - the trees would've been left to die without their input.

When I was a councillor and fielding queries on LTNs, I highlighted places like this at Craiglockhart Road North and in Hutchison & Chesser, which have been there for decades, and asked if people wanted them removed. Not surprisingly no one did. Change is hard but quickly welcomed once done.

Shandon, Edinburgh residents are holding a protest about road safety, delays to a long-awaited pedestrian crossing and tackling speeding. It will take place at 5.00pm on Wednesday 7th May (junction of Ashley Terrace/Harrison Gardens).

Some local photos maps and data below. Note the area has quite low car ownership due to tenement flats and proximity to transport links. Even those with cars, many will often walk, cycle or get the bus - prioritising those methods of travel would benefit a lot of residents.

No other European Capital would “re-open” a 5-lane city centre dual carriageway allowing thru access for public cars when it’s been restricted for years. It should be “re-opened” with wider pavements, bigger bus stops and be for buses, taxis, bikes and pedestrians only. A HUGE missed opportunity.

Figures revealed by @edinburghgreens.bsky.social show that more than two thirds of Edinburgh's walking, wheeling & cycling projects are delayed. We're calling for urgent council action to get them back on track.

I'm still waiting for the first section of the tram to be completed. Coates Crescent was given a "temporary" lane of tarmac due to the bus diversion route. Still not been removed and the setts repaired. @thecockburn.bsky.social

The original plans submitted to the Scottish Parly for the Granton route showed it as single track with passing places at the stops. That would have left enough room for active travel along the corridor.
