It’s a pretty bold take but I think that the idea that Rogue’s accent being so exaggerated because she has some kind of speech impediment is interesting. As someone who has multiple speech impediments, a superhero with a speech impediment that isn’t just a stutter would be great representation.

After the past week, this whole pages feel very relevant but we must remember that like the Ultimates, we are obligated to do our best to fight for a better world than the one that we’ve inherited.

Seeing the full Ultimates team all together at least feels really satisfying as one of my main complaints for previous issues has been the fact that we haven’t really gotten to see the team actually being a team and I partially blame that on the single issue format that the Ultimates books are using

I like that From The Ashes isn’t just trying to move the X-books away from Krakoa as quickly as possible but is actually drawing on very crucial plot points from it as part of the main arc of the initiative.

One thing that I’m definitely giving From The Ashes lots of credit for is acknowledging Magneto’s Jewishness and it’s especially refreshing that he actually uses the word “Jew”. Jew isn’t a dirty word despite some people saying it’s not PC. It’s literally what we are.

Scott and Magneto have one of the most fascinating dynamics in the X-Men Universe because whenever they interact on friendly terms, it’s always clear that Scott probably would have turned out a lot more well adjusted if Max had been his mentor instead of Charles.
