*Finally* got the tomatoes and cucumbers in the community garden plot. It can be delightful to see the dawn occasionally when travelling. This one, for instance, was really lovely. Seeing it every goddamn morning, though, gets a little tired. Eventually I'll get off of west coast time, right? RIGHT?

Why we didn't make it to Rotorua today. On the road for 6 hrs, to end up right back where we started. All highways to the eastern side of the North Island closed. Damn near didn't make it back to my friend's house.

Suddenly realizing--on departure day--that a couple of books and some music may not cut it for 24 hrs in transit. So now I've overcompensated: 2 movies (I'll finally watch Sinners!) + several episodes of a series + updated Timberborn. That should sort me out. Aotearoa New Zealand, here I come.

Finally admitted to myself that my friend's sweater is beyond repair, and I should just recreate it. With the sweater as a map, if I can find the right yarn yarn, it's doable. It's been giving me guilty pangs for over a year & now I'm obsessed. Turns out this is the puzzle my mind wants right now.
