i just used Apple's new "Digital ID" feature — where you load your passport into Wallet — to go through airport security. successfully! i expected them to go "what are you talking about" but there was a place to tap and everything. if you're curious, here's what it looks like in the "history" view.

A not-important thing these email drops have nevertheless left me thinking about: Do people type this way? Even on phones, I don’t get it. Why the random spaces? Is this text all copy-pasted from WordPerfect 5.1? I don’t care about people typing informally in emails and texts, but I’m so confused.

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.

It's super frustrating to have a book become available on @libbyapp.com only to learn that it's not available to send to Kindle. And then extra frustrating to learn that the publisher is actually selling the ebook DRM-free, so the DRM restrictions are coming from Libby.

I have no interest in owning smart appliances that connect to the internet, but I would love a feature where you can update their clocks cia a smart phone. Not a permanent connection, just something that pulls the time on your phone and updates the clocks on the appliances.
