if you want to send bazel events over a real socket it looks like you *have* to use grpc 🙄. which, like remote execution, is very annoying to me.

i was able to funnel JSON bazel event payloads through a FIFO. we get some bazel interactivity through that, where the programs im writing can watch bazel for changes to its own system and act accordingly. that doesnt fix the remote building situation, for that I will have to use protobuf/gepc
