We had planned for videos to support people in how to use the website. No one needed that section when we developed it, nor when shown at expos. I get no calls to ask for help. I can't get any supports for research in our work, either this or the work in Easy English & our guidelines. 1/4

Am concerned that lots is EU centric 4 WCAG collaboration. We have tried to get involved in a subgroup. Apparently going to change times 4 Australia & other countries not EU or US. But nothing. No response to suggested additions. Ppl with low literacy not appropriately considered. Not OK #ASXChat

Let’s go back to some basics. Men & women think & process & plan in different ways. Is this ever taken into consideration when mapping where things are on websites?

But when innovation does not consider the biggest hidden disability- low literacy, across all communities & all countries a lot of this innovation makes the digital divide wider. How is it when I talk with website designers, developers they r unaware of this need. Not inclusion

just insane. Reviewing a paper on covid in Canada that finds an 11-fold increase in risk of hospitalization in the month after infection. Just absolutely bonkers. I've been doing respiratory virus epi for a long time, and we really don't trade in statistics like "relative risk = 11"

Love the evidence . Don’t be scared of writing in everyday words. Increased fluency hence comprehension for reader. Complex words and text do not make u appear more intelligent to the reader. All you are doing is making it hard work. Who wants hard work when reading?
