When pundits talk about “de-risking” pipeline investment, they mean that we cover the losses and private companies walk off with the profits. It’s taxpayer funded corporate welfare.

I will also say that, if your take on the agreement is that "it's ok because neither side really means what they say," it's not a great agreement. And if that's the correct take, then in an age in which trust in politics is at worryingly low levels it's a democratically corrosive agreement.

Today is Daisy's Gotcha Day. She's been with me for 5 years now. And we have been through a lot together! (She still misses Honey, her cat dad - she sleeps in his spot pretty much every night still. I really miss him too.)
