No matter how long I’ve been a writer I still forget the basics. Today it’s stakes. I swear this short story I’m writing had them but they seem to have vanished on me.

Biggest writing challenge I've had to overcome last few years is regaining confidence in myself: confidence that I can fix shitty series of first attempts. I started last book over like 50 times.
