Yeah, they're still saying "targeting" (at least in the two paragraphs of the article I could see) so it's not definite. But it makes sense. The Senate is in session through August 7 so a markup on July 29 would give them the option of a floor vote before the August recess

We certainly have a shot at blocking KOSA in the Senate. Two years ago they passed it 91-3 or something like that, so it's far from a slam dunk. Of course even if the Senate passes it they have to come to agreement with the House, easier said than done, but we need to fight it every step of the way.

No, I hadn't posted it before, this is the first time I've heard this date. There's also been talk about a Senate Judiciary hearing with people from various tech companies on July 28, not sure how that factors in; Judiciary is rumored to be working on their own package but who knows.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they even have a hearing or markup on the KIDS Act. Some of the components (like the SCREEN Act) might move separately in the Senate ... it's all very uncertain at this point.
