This is the most anti-science thing I have watched today. What is most shocking about this is all of these statements are being made without any scientific evidence to back it up. There are very few safe options to treat pain and fever in pregnancy so this is also an attack on women's health.

Pregnant women can't access the #COVID vaccine. If they get #COVID and develop a fever, they can't take Tylenol? 🫠. Both COVID infection and untreated maternal fever increase the risk of bad outcomes for both fetus and mother ranging from preterm delivery to death. None of this is pro-life.

Every medical professional I know has dreaded this announcement and unanimously called it questionable at best. Large cohorts have shown there is NO link between acetaminophen and autism, it is by definition a confounder at best, and leucovorin…I have no words

While the world has been on perpetual fire and dealing with the whirlwind of public health issues being thrown at it, the CDC STI Treatment Guidelines for Trans and Gender Diverse folks was removed. This is the government directly interfering in medical care of a historically neglected population.

What is so evident in the last 24 hrs is we can all agree to condemn political violence, but many don’t seem to be able to show empathy to other people and communities that have been targeted in the past. I think that’s what makes this so hard for many of us.

Spent 30 mins discussing HIV testing results with a patient this AM. Our language is purposeful, if you have a reactive screen, this is NOT confirmed HIV and the patient still needs confirmatory testing. False positive screening does occur, so please be clear. #HIVSky

Got to present the LIMIT Trial @stihiv2025.org looking at adding lidocaine to prefilled Bicillin shots to see if it could affect pain at 10 mins and 24hrs after injection vs control w/saline. 4 pt decline in pain at 10 mins, no difference at 24 hrs. This is prelim analysis but is promising #STISky

STI Clinical Nugget: daily IM injections for the treatment of syphilis is PUNITIVE and not an alternative to IV treatment. Do not do this. Get the patient first line treatment which is IV penicillin and make it work. If not, discuss with an ID specialist, but DO NOT DO DAILY IM INJECTIONS.

This is what we go through when we do "peer to peers", that's if you qualify for that level of discussion with insurance companies (sometimes your hospital hasn't paid into that level). I have never spoken with an ID trained doctor, and they determine if sth is approved or denied.

More choices is always good! Excited for these results on once a month oral PrEP.

Got to make a patient's day by offering them doxyPEP. They go to sex parties and fully enjoy them, are on HIV PrEP, and had never been offered doxyPEP until today. They were so excited to be able to prevent STIs further. This intervention is about removing anxiety from sex, which I love

Ok so I got Lenacapavir for #PrEP today. I made the decision to try it due to my single kidney and to decrease my pill burden. Couple of things from the experience: 1- the loading pills are VERY BIG so be warned (Triumeq size) 2- icing before and after helps with nodules 3- I chose thigh injection…

Medicaid being cut is all I can think about today. Medicaid is what got me on PrEP before residency and couldn’t afford insurance on my part time salary. Medicaid is what helps so many of my patients get the care they need and deserve. Medicaid helps fund our most vulnerable hospitals.
