About to start the day. First, my #HIV medication.

For most of the time, I am my work. But I just got home after an evening with two of my best friends. The three of us had dinner, then we saw “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale.” I just got home after having fun with friends I love and realized this is who I really am.

No one loved me more profoundly than my mom. No one has been a greater supporter of my work than my dad. Telling him about my latest reporting was like seeing his face when I wrote for my high school newspaper. There’s no greater affirmation than the look on my dad’s face.
