🚨 Calling UK/US 🦋 film/Blu-Ray nerds! I’m considering buying the NTSC 2-disc collectors edition Blu-Ray of “Black Christmas” (1974). My player (see photo) is Region 2 (DVD)/Region B (Blu-Ray). NTSC seems to be Region A. I’m always a tad sceptical of such tech parameters! Should I risk it? 🤔

The strangest thing happened today. My wife has edged ahead of me in the “Seventh Son”-style manipulation of our daughter’s music tastes, getting her into Spice Girls and 1 Direction. We put on some old Spice Girls videos. I had to leave the room during ‘Mama’ - lump in my throat! 🥺

Our 2 yo son’s two favourite songs are ‘Pink Pony Club’ by #ChappellRoan and ‘Lemonade’ by #SOPHIE. I am very proud!

Even in terms of its artwork and packaging alone, #KidA is jaw-dropping. I’ve lived in those snow-covered fields and hills, under that apocalyptic sky. To me it’s so “English” in a hyper-romanticised sense: all those hedgerows. Like something from the flying sequence in Raymond Briggs’s The Snowman.

#Radiohead #KidA #October2025 #25YearsOld It was *so* exciting that Radiohead weren’t releasing singles from “Kid A”. That they were really inverting the typical marketing strategy process. Seeing these blipverts on TV was alien, intriguing, magical, enticing. A whole world was being created.

So, yes - perhaps my all time favourite album, certainly the most impactful- Radiohead’s “Kid A” was released 25 (!) years ago today. On 11 December 2000, Thom and Jonny provided two killer DJ sets for @maryannehobbs.bsky.social’s Radio 1 Breezeblock show. I recorded them and played that tape to ☠️

I was going to go hard into how much I love #KidA throughout this month, but I don’t think anyone’s that bothered. This probably does a decent job of how I’m still feeling its impact 25 (!) years later! Happy birthday to a GOAT.
