Did it. You have to dodge through the Iai. It's just more consistent. Still just as punishing if you mess it up, but it makes the fight doable when it unlocks. Hated using the rock, but what can ye do. Left my mic audio in because I'm lazy, but I'm in a voice call doing this.

I think this is the endgame of making things while believing there's an attention economy you have to beat everyone else in. It stops being about honing a craft or making something that has intrinsic value to you and starts being about how you're much better at gaming the system than everyone else.

I think something white people don't know is how if your high school is predominantly minorities, there's a good chance it had barbed-wire fences at some point. My school had barbed-wire fencing.

In my time of doing lots of interview reading for videos and trying to understand the stuff that goes on behind the scenes to cater to audiences, I am always annoyed at how stupid some execs- and even devs- think people are, and then exasperated at how often people prove them right.

2/ Of course we don’t settle for less than full justice. Of course we continue to advocate for those still ignored, silenced or oppressed. Of course there is always more progress to be made. But celebrate the wins. Be thankful for the improvement. Build on the progress.

4/ I sometimes wonder if there are people involved in advocacy who are actually more invested in being right, than securing rights. As if the satisfaction of pointing out what’s still wrong will always outweigh any satisfaction they can derive from seeing progress made.

3/ There is a real tendency to invalidate any progress made if it isn’t yet “the ideal”, which negates the work people have done, the efforts people have made and the progress that has actually occurred. Perfectionism doesn’t encourage hope, but despair. It doesn’t energize, it exhausts.

A very wise friend once said to me: “If you’re going to call yourself ‘progressive’ you have to give people space to progress.” I think about that every time I see a celebration of progress met with a “yeah but…here’s all the things that are still wrong.” /1

This is going to sound a little out there, but I'm replaying Dying Light. Was in the mood for parkour zombie thing, but didn't want to do Dead Island 2. Dying Light's story is kinda run of the mill action fodder, but I sort of miss that blunt, straightforward stuff in games like this.

It's fairly common because python is so popular with younger programmers and whatnot, but every bone in my body writhes at syntax in GDScript being indentation sensitive and terminating at newlines. How do y'all find syntax errors when they suddenly become logic errors? Scary!

Elden Ring: Nightreign I know a lot of folks feel weird about this one because it isn't a traditional soulslike, but I REALLY loved this. It hit my brain in the way speedrunning does. It also gave me a great excuse to try out different playstyles. It's a great multiplayer soulslike game. 9/10

They're trying to sweet baby inc some random content creator support network, are putting games journalists in the game as elusive targets ahead of serving them fraudulent cease-and-desist orders, and installed tracking software on every employee's PC several months post-launch without telling them

I've held off of rubbernecking this game prior to this but this article is so deeply insane that you can't summarize it. The lede is not the worst thing that the CEO did *in this meeting alone*
