This is Minneapolis: I’m at a major healthcare clinic (just here for a friend) and overheard the front desk staff mention they’ve had 97 missed appointments today. People aren’t getting medical care bc they’re afraid to leave home.

“ICE isn’t the Gestapo. The Gestapo was…” (proceeds to describe qualities that apply to what ICE is currently doing)

Now is so weird. “Well, the reason we have to terrorize the people who use the pennies from the spare change dish at the checkout INSTEAD OF the people robbing the bank is because THEM’S THE RULES.”

Some (but not all) Minnesota schools already had a scheduled no school day Friday, and in the future that does seem so perfect to include more vulnerable groups in that way. Kids can experience civil engagement (and still feel like they’re sticking it to the proverbial man) by default. I like it.

After work one time, I was running really fast toward the train platform to get home to my kid who was still really struggling with my new, much-longer commute. I wasn’t fast enough, but this VERY, VERY TALL man held the door open so I could get in. I still appreciate it. 💕
