Friendly reminder: No Contact is a last resort for children of abusive parents. We tried our whole lives to get them to listen to us for even a second, to understand how their behavior was hurting us and destroying our trust. But we could never get a word in. They told us they’d never change.

Haven’t had time for art much lately. Trying to survive. Just popping in to say I am trans. I am non binary. I am queer. I have never committed or been arrested for a crime. Never even had a traffic ticket. I’ve never needed mental health help for being trans. I’ve never bought a gun.

It involved doing the dishes daily (sometimes twice), feeding and watering all the animals, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, assisting I dinner prep, doing all the laundry, changing my mom’s bed sheets, cleaning the bathrooms at least once a week, cleaning gutters and windows monthly…etc

Let’s get a few things straight. 1. Nobody is a perfect parent. But my dad was about as close as you can get. He was a great man, unafraid to be open about his feelings, passionately invested in his childrens’ futures, willing to encourage goodness through action and example wherever he went.

Ya know, I’ve been thinking lately. As bad as all this hurt, I think the part that hurt the worst was folks I loved who ended up taking her side. They wouldn’t believe my story no matter how honest I was or how much I pleaded. There’s no way to describe that world-spiraling feeling if betrayal.

14. Being nb is a homely affair. I live it every day. Sometimes it’s an identity that brings me great joy. Most of the time it just feels mundane. We aren’t asking anyone for anything but to let us exist and live our lives. The gender binary works for most ppl so it doesn’t need to disappear.
