Since Baker and Taylor shuttered, I've basically only been doing busywork at work because we can't get any new books. So I've spent a lot of time looking at the news. Relatedly, my mental health is suffering. Every day there's at least one headline so stupid I almost die from it.

I actually talk about this all the time in the context of writing. Either 1) someone will claim that they had a great idea but wish they could beam their thoughts into the page, or 2) they'll act like if they DON'T have some divine inspiration or a unique enough idea, they can't write.

It's going to be a ROUGH time for libraries for awhile. The biggest wholesale library book vendor, Baker & Taylor, is closing, and there's no way their competition can absorb their massive client base. So... expect delays on your new stuff while thousands of libraries scramble frantically. 😭
