I've just read a book thats destroyed me, When the cranes fly South by Lisa Ridzén. I can't believe how much i cried tbh on and off all night. I'm emotionally drained. Thats her debut, what will she bring out next?

Happy Independent Bookstore Day! Today and every day, stick it to the oligarchs and shop from the small, human-scaled businesses that are a part of your community! As an author and a reader, I am so grateful for independent bookstores and the booksellers who make them what they are.

How on earth can the trip planned by King Charles possibly go ahead with Trump making statements like this?

I know it’s not vital politically but King Charles should cancel his visit. Trump does not warrant that honor.

I've stumbled across
#ladiesoflondon
how horrendous are these ladies, Annabelle and Caroline Fleming seem lovely, the rest are awful and just shows money cannot buy happiness. I feel sorry for their children. Candice must feel relieved she got out quick

UK should do the same. Because he grossly disrespected our soldiers, he threatens us with tariffs, he has his own police force that kidnap citizens as young as 5, murder 2 citizens in daytime, on camera and lie about it, still hiding the Epstein files. Pick whichever reason you want and boycott.

I don't think I have to tell most people who follow me why libraries are important, or that they're under threat in the UK. But I want to make sure everyone knows Lambeth libraries are going on strike and there's a solidarity hardship fund HERE

Ah. Despite the mischievous headlines I didn’t say this was now standard English. Rather that ‘mischeevious’ (which used to bug me no end) is an example of how, for centuries, English-speakers have often moved the sound of words to something more familiar.

It's come to my attention that some people believe you can't buy a new book until you've read the books you already have. Let me assure you, as both a lawyer and a writer, that this idea is legally and morally WRONG and BAD. Buy more books.
