Here’s a photo of just one voting paper which shows how the single transferable vote in proportional representation works in Irish elections. Other countries electorates are amateurs by comparison! Pencils, papers & complete transparency.

100 followers BlueSky seems worth marking, although randomly I seem to have gained a disproportionately Turkish following (especially relating to Turkish analysis of International Relations) Teşekkürler!? ❤️🇹🇷

Spider-hunting Wasps are a fascinating family (Pompilidae) of wasps in Ireland. The largest example of the family here is Priocnemis pertubator (Bristly-legged Spider Hunting Wasp). They are also one of the first of the Pompilidae to emerge each year, normally around April.

The replies are essentially a starter pack of NI women you should be making space for in your feed (both the nominated and some of the women nominating)

Tributes are being paid to veteran journalist Ken Reid, after his family confirmed his death at the age of 69. Best known as the long-serving political editor of UTV, he has been described as a “towering figure in broadcasting in Northern Ireland”. ➡️https://tinyurl.com/5n7rnnm3

There is money out there - just not for public transport in the west, it seems.

It would be so great if you could RT my Etsy shop in the twoots below/above. My🌲 jewellery orders usually make up a significant part of my income at this time of yr but the X exodus has meant I’ve only received 1 order-pretty scary income-wise. A small boost would help so much. Thankyou🌿

I know it's a little early for an advert on here but this evening I'll be opening my Etsy shop (silverpebble) to take orders for🌲. I cast real flowers & nature finds in recycled silver & make tiny wearable versions of much-loved bird species. I'll link to my shop this evening...I ship anywhere🌿

A question for the roughly 1200 new followers I've gained in the last week... 1. What is your favourite invertebrate? (You don't need to choose from the photos below). 2. Why?

Research shows that simply looking at the fractal patterns in nature shifts our brains away from fight or flight & into rest/digest mode, alleviating anxiety & helping us recover from stress more quickly. Zoom in to the pattern detail in my photo, it’ll help if your Friday afternoon’s angst-ridden👇🏼
