Daaaaaang. This two-part story reuniting @kellythompson.bsky.social with @mattiadeiulis.bsky.social is pure FIRE. Such fantastic writing and De Ilulis's art just feels indulgent in comics. Loved the mother/daughter flashbacks as Diana wrestles with the story. Then later lives it out. So good. Wow.

@jason-aaron.bsky.social's latest issue of Absolute Superman (#6), like the first 3 episodes of Andor, are telling beautifully human stories of being a migrant in a society that desperately wants to scapegoat you.

I started listening to the Ideas Don’t Bleed podcast last year which is how I came to l know the work of @ashcanpress.com and @tylerboss.bsky.social, beginning with 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank. A heist comedy w kids as the criminals. Loved the imaginative intros to each chapter.

Well, quite.

It’s nice how they’ve replicated the middle school dynamic of the insecure bully and his sniveling sidekick picking on someone surrounded by a circle of scared little boys who also try to talk shit so the bully doesn’t come after them. Or as the right calls it, “masculinity.”

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

Gonna rant a bit about something I see in illustration that I have NEVER seen drawn correctly. I get why it's always wrong (the roots of the mistake), and 99.5% of people will never notice... but I do. My own pet peeve. Yet a simple fix. Anyone else notice a thing that artists ALWAYS get wrong?

I re-read Postman’s “Amusing Ourselves to Death” last month (it’s still 🔥), but then I discovered his other book “Technopoly: The Surrender of Culture to Technology” and wow does it describe the dark side of what tech has done to our society with incredible clarity (written in 1992!).
