Taught the history students how to play RISK today. Some had a better feel for strategy than others. At press time, Yellow is dominant in the Western Hemisphere while Blue tenuously holds Asia/Oceana. Red, Cyan, and Green are reduced to small regional powers and magenta is history.

This is Eevee. She played too hard and scratched her cornea on brush in the garden. We had an adventure today getting her the proper treatment and now she's resting up in the outfit of an upper middle-class airport patron who just wants ONE barista in this whole terminal who can get her order right.

Jesus is the Lord of history. He loves us βto the end,β blesses those who mourn, the meek, the merciful. The Spirit and the Church say to his kingdom, βCome!β βLet the one who hears say, βCome!β Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.β

Pray for all the catechumens tonight! And everyone completing their sacraments of initiation! Instead of judging people for whether they receive "rightly," trust in God's objective work. Defer to the priority that the ancient church gives to belonging, which invites us each to greater holiness.

Each March, I run a writing tournament for my students. They pick a saint, argue why they are the best. These essays are ranked into a bracket, and then the write new essays arguing their saint is better than their opponent's saint. We just got to the Sweet 16. Any upsets? Bets? Scandals?

Forgot my thermos at home this morning, so no tea at the bus stop. Conveniently, my transfer route was a little delayed giving me a calm moment for a little espresso before my bus rolled in with the clouds.

I run an afterschool club that is a catch-all for students who have niche interests: D&D, anime, comics, MTG, etc. Today I introduced a few of of the boys to wargaming. My favorite part was seeing how quickly they became enamored with taking "realistic" action photos of their troops after each move.

Independent religious, human rights & legal-aid organizations should have regular access to federal immigrant detention centers, including & especially those privately operated. Humane conditions & treatment need to be verified. Assertions that everything is fine are not enough.

I finished up painting legendary Danish King Hrolf Kraki (front and center) and his 12 loyal berserkers this evening. Next I'll paint up some worthy shields after doing a bit of research on what 4th and 5th century Danes considered stylish.

Had a chance to work on some more miniatures, recently. These are from a set of "Early Anglo-Saxons. I was able to assemble two mythical warbands of that era/culture: Beowulf and his 14 men with spears, and King Hrolf Kraki and his 12 Champions, from Norse Sagas.
