I for one encourage Mr. Metaxas to go jogging in weather that looks like this (pics from 2020 during a wildfire in California, AQI was somewhere around 500). Maybe he can even jog backwards after punching someone who suggests it’s a bad idea

It is very weird to see Christopher Nolan, perhaps the top director of dude movies for dudes, being accused of trying to subvert masculinity.

After a few days with high humidity and temps in the 90s I have learned the importance of moseying. Rushing is no good in this weather. But if you mosey, and perhaps dawdle a bit in the shade as you go, it’s not bad. Just plan ahead timing-wise.

Sam Neill was one of those guys who always made a movie, even a dumb movie, better. I always enjoyed seeing his name pop up on screen.

It’s almost impossible to exaggerate how central the Dreyfus Affair, visibly or invisibly, is to Catholic and European politics over the past 130 years, and how bonkers it is that a monument to Dreyfus is still being debated.

My daughter was talking about what her fellow teen zoo volunteers did on their trip to Belize since it was screen-free, and one of them was collaborating to recite the entire script of The Bee Movie from memory, like some kind of Homeric epic

It’s interesting reading midcentury pop Catholic books by people like Frank Sheed, because they predate the “we must remake Christendom” mindset and as such have a perspective that’s become almost alien in current apologetics.
