First day on the picket line #BCGEU it was mostly amusing chaos, though we did accidentally shut down the central branch library. With hundreds of picketers milling about in circles a couple meters from the Library staff entrance, it was bound to happen. They were cool and joined us in solidarity.

Today I grabbed a bit of scrap marble, did an easy pattern on it with wax, dunked it in a solution of acid, and started figuring out how to etch stone. It worked surprisingly well. Now to do some proper sculpting.

If I dropped the ball on you this week, I apologize. Last week my mother broke her leg, and she's been in hospital ever since. Surgery has been bumped day after day (today because of the Vancouver car ramming) and she's been transferred to a bigger hospital. I'm somewhat distracted.
