Thread of helpful tips before the big storm: - Go grocery shopping now. - Get yourself enough shelf-stable food for at least a week - Get hand & feet warmers - Check your flashlights & get extra batteries. - Stay warm, not hot. Layers are good, but don’t overdue it because you’ll start to sweat.

The amount of community effort here in MN dedicated to helping people affected by what’s going on is something that I think many people overlook when they talk about shit here. It genuinely gives me a lot of hope even though things are pretty dark.

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day). What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance
