I’m not in Centretown but I run a shop in Lowertown that experiences much of the same issues. I would love to see more people who can help out with folks experiencing a crisis, it’s tough having to do that myself while running a store, especially after 3 PM when the nearby drop-in’s are closed.

Today I brought a voice of dissent to the city budget vote. The residents of Somerset Ward are my boss: not the mayor and not other members of council. I know you want a city that works and that leaves no one behind. This budget missed the mark, so I voted against it. I will keep fighting for you.

I am 100% ready to join you to “ban right on red”. Montreal has this, but only because that’s the way it always was. Other cities elected to allow right turns on red, to allow for greater traffic flow. And look who’s paying the price. Day after day, another tragedy. Make this an election issue.

Today I went to my kid’s middle school heritage fair, which featured a project on the history of drag in Canada, a Lego reproduction of the Oka Crisis, a display about the history of abortion rights, and two children dressed as different versions of Trotsky. A+, no notes, the kids are alright.

Reporting on the "51st state" stuff should really be much more explicit that what Trump is talking about is starting a war and trying to occupy Canada. Canada is not going to amend its constitution to join the US. That is not a thing. Trump is talking about war.
