The Greens are ready to work with the government to pass gun laws next week. The rest of the omnibus bill however needs too much reworking to meet community concerns. We need to keep all people in the community safe from discrimination and hatred, but good laws don’t come from rushed work.

This was a lot of fun to make. 3D printed pokeball fidget clicker. Central button and each of the outer segments has a mechanical keyboard switch under it to give a very satisfying click

One out of 12 rams is uninterested in females. Deemed “non-procreative" by farmers, they're typically sent to slaughter. German farmer Michael Stücke rescues the gay rams. His company Rainbow Wool, sells fabulous wool products from his flock of gay sheep.

had a little window of hyperfocus on something I need to get done at work but then I had a bunch of questions from other work people that derailed me and do you think I can get back into what I need to do? Gah. Not their fault but still frustrating.

This heatwave has marked a historic turning point in the Australian energy grid - we used to have blackouts as everyone turned their AC's on, with pundits telling us that 'renewables aren't the answer'. No blackouts this time, and silence from the nay-sayers.

Updated Fire Danger Ratings 4:03pm 8/1/26 Central went from Extreme 78 to Extreme 99! This is now a Black Saturday type scenario. Hold on to your hats folks, it is going to get messy tomorrow. Also stay inside where your hat won't blow off would be a better solution.

This is a rather big deal. For anyone in one of the Catastrophic Rating areas tomorrow If your bushfire survival plan involved a V/line train or bus tomorrow, your plan did not survive contact with the enemy.

What's kinda ridiculous is this LLM/AI revolution would be perfect if it came alongside the disassembly of the current form of capitalism and a shift to UBI. AI doing simple work that keeps society running, and opportunities for individuals to pursue their dreams free from economic shackles

77% of workers experienced burnout in 2024. That's not a personal failing—that's a systemic problem with how we've designed work.

Burnout was on the rise in 2024, but so was engagement. That could spell trouble for employers in 2025
A recent survey identified a potentially dangerous combination for HR leaders: an overlap between burnout and engagement.
