We need urgent reform now. Everybody deserves secure housing.

People who work full-time should be able to afford to live near their job, but for many workers, that’s no longer true. Housing has become so expensive because the system rewards professional landlords. This is why union members are taking action on housing and on pay.

Our tax rules let professional landlords off the hook while first-time buyers fight with increasing rents and house prices. Tax rules need to change.

Housing is currently the biggest contributor to the cost of living. If the RBA raise rates today, a homeowner will have to pay more, yet professional landlords can raise rents while claiming higher interest costs as tax deductions. We need reform now.

The system is stacked in favour of property investors who are exploiting negative gearing and capital gains tax breaks. It's time for reform to turn houses back into homes.

Better work-life balance improves performance, reduces burnout, and helps employers attract and retain staff. This is how improved work conditions become the norm in Australia, when people join their unions and negotiate for better outcomes, paving the way for change. #4dayweek

The big gas and oil companies have been having it their way for too long. We are calling for a 25% tax on gas exports. This would have raised $17.1 billion in the 2023-2024 financial year. Enough to build 50,000 new homes.
