Our first event for the Future Skills for TESOL project! This is a series of events that we are integrating into our courses, designed to give our students opportunities to engage with local English language learners in order to develop useful language teaching and research skills. Thanks to all!

This initiative adds a useful practical dimension to our #MScTESOL, allowing students to engage meaningfully with local #ESOL learners to gain insight into their needs, priorities and lived experiences. I think the ESOL learners are benefitting too 😃

I’m at the #baal2025 conference at @uofglasgow.bsky.social . Lots of the sessions are taking place in the GU Union, and I’m getting flashbacks to my undergrad years. I’m pretty sure I saw the Tom Robinson Band here back in the day.

It is insane to me that the richest man in the world is using his global megaphone to call for millions of British people to be rounded up and deported (including my family) and somehow this isn’t even news.
