This is potentially very important. There are some obvious follow-ups that could tighten the argument but the basic conclusion that emitters of CO2 (direct or indirect, scope 1 or scope 3) can be linked (proportionately) to damages seems clear.

While it's terrible that Mahmoud Khalil has been arrested & threatened with deportation, many other green card holders have had this experience. What's new & very scary is that a rarely used law has been invoked giving the Sec of State power to decide if Khalil is a national security threat.
