Tip for anyone in or around London: the London Transport Museum's depot in Acton has an open day next weekend - Thursday 18th through Sunday 21st - and in addition to poking around their huge collection of normally off-display items if you go on Saturday or Sunday you can ride a little tiny train!

I'm trained in collapsed structure rescue. On 9/11 I was in Singapore for work, heading to Germany, watching the CNN footage on repeat. Watching rescuers go in. Then glued to the recovery efforts weeks & months later. To all who lost their lives that day & afterwards from effects, we honour them.
