Apparently, opening the front door in the morning has become A Thing that is now part of my job description as cat servant.

Love to return from several days off to discover emails that make you feel as if you should not have taken those days off. Not that anyone's blaming me, just that A Lot happened that I would've normally handled. What in the world happened???

Well, at least this AO3 author announced that the fic wasn't complete in her author's notes at the top even if it was marked as complete, but I sort by completed fics for a reason. Sigh.

She spent a long time in her tissue paper nest this morning, but eventually decided that just wasn’t comfy enough.

Just received a new infusion of tissue paper, and Nova’s been using it as a nest ever since.

Opened the patio door to take some trash out & get the mail, & when I came back in I found her hanging out by the other door. So I rolled my eyes & opened it. 😅

Sigh. 🙃

I'm used to various business sending birthday messages, frequently trying to get me to buy something, so it's whatever. But I am rather amused that the one *from my dentist* includes a picture of a frosted cupcake. 😆

Nova offering an example of how I could spend my birthday… or rather, Caturday. 💤

My cat abandoned my lap for birds or something, so I was forced to start chores, including laundry. (I normally do laundry on Saturdays, but given that tomorrow is my birthday I decided no laundry tomorrow would be one of my gifts to myself.)

Nova has stepped in to keep me from having to start any chores on my day off.

However, I don’t regret staying up that late, as I really enjoyed what I saw of Critical Role C4, & all the characters we met up to the point I bailed out. (I think there were 4 who hadn’t shown up yet.) Looking forward to watching the rest!

Dear body, I went to bed quite late last night. I had to bail out of Critical Role about 15 minutes after the break, so not as late as it could’ve been, but still late. So why exactly did you make me get up at 7am, hmmmm??? I have today off, I could’ve slept in, but nooo.

And I was thinking I might go to bed at the break, but I guess NOT. 👀

I decided to take tomorrow, Friday & Monday off, 75% for my birthday Saturday & 25% for Critical Role Campaign 4 starting tomorrow night. I’m going to try once again to watch live all the way through, though I doubt I’ll make it (starts at 10pm my time & will run for 3+ hours so it’s unlikely). >

Very tasty (& Fall-like) Hello Fresh meal, but I got a much later start on the peeling & chopping thanks to a certain cat claiming my lap & emitting sleep gas. Also, I either need an actual potato masher or to break out the hand mixer, bc that was a bit of work with just a large serving fork. #food

Nova disappeared this morning & I couldn’t find her. I wasn’t worried, but I was very curious bc I looked under both beds & behind furniture along with all her usual nap spots. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Eventually she nonchalantly wandered out, climbed my desk chair, & demanded attention.

BREAKING NEWS: Baby otter is on a roll!

Still in bed two hours later, but more awake.

She needs more beauty sleep after I kept her up for awhile in the middle of the night by being unable to sleep myself.

She was very clearly waiting for me to settle into my spot on the sofa, but still waited several minutes before finally claiming my lap.
