"Performance Review was one of my favorite reads of 2024, and it is still unbelievable to me that you can read it right now for free. You should do so." Very humbled and grateful to be not just read but appreciated to this extent.

nobody's done more to promote political violence than the GOP, but damn if the dems haven't played a huge role in creating the conditions for mass violence by absolutely choking off any sense that people can create positive change through non-violent, traditional political channels

Klein’s entire political project has been problematizing minor transgressions of the left while insisting we excuse or valorize the cruelty of the right. Every few months he facilitates the ceding of more ground, assuring us it will protect whatever thing he will then insist we cede 3 months later.

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us. We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again. That's the revolution.

The fact that environmental review kicks in as soon as they add more density than the original proposal shows how backward the state requirements are, because it assumes that dense housing has negative environmental impacts while existing car-dependent single-family sprawl is neutral or positive.

Whenever I talk to someone from Bellevue and mention I live in Seattle, they immediately tell me about the one time they saw a homeless person while in Seattle. Incredibly diseased suburbanite minds.

the year is 2027. whenever any crime is committed, the government checks if the perpetrator is three degrees of separation from any trans person, and if so, the defendant and the trans individual are immediately executed and their bodies are sacrificially burned in offering to charlie kirk

what you say matters more than how you say it. much more! that defenses of charlie kirk have to abstract away politics to an entirely content-free realm where ideas are as substantial as gossamer threads is itself an indication that everyone defending him knows his ideas were odious and harmful

if someone quotes Leviticus saying gay people should be stoned to death, and calls that "God's perfect law," it's accurate to say they called for gay people to be stoned to death. Likewise, it's inaccurate to say they never called for it. bc I can parse language and understand how humans communicate

rightwing media ecosystem operates by stoking hatred and anger and divisions every single day, they want people to constantly be afraid and want people to hate eachother, everything we are seeing is a result of the destablization the right has profited off of

He’s not saying this because of anyone making jokes or celebrating on the internet. The fascists are gonna do what they want regardless of how you act. don’t make it worse by giving the Feds an excuse to knock on your door, but don’t pretend the fascists will respect your humanity and restraint.

Fun chat with my friend in front of 75 of our best friends 😊. Victoria's so passionate and knowledgeable, always a pleasure to hear her discuss her artistic vision and name cars I've never heard of like the Ford F420. Very surprising to hear her talk about having a favorite cop car though 🤔.

Florida is a beautiful state that has been taken over and destroyed by ghoulish death cult freaks with the support of retirees from out of state who would rather burn the world than pay any taxes. I will hate these people as long as I live.

i just don't think you get to claim to be punk rock if your politics are about tweaking the status quo from within while equating the right with the left. doesn't matter if you're part of an oppressed group.

I know many people who have worked in federal agencies and there are exactly zero of them that I would even begin to describe as "radical." They are people who believe in the work and find meaning in serving the public -- it takes a lot to get people like that walking out against their employer!

Arguing about if Gavin Newsom can win in 2028 is insane when we are already living under a fascist regime. The midterms will be a preview: if Republicans don't win any of the newly drawn districts (bc of their deep unpopularity) this will be considered evidence of election fraud.
